Sister

A duo project with turntablist Mariam Rezai, Sister was recorded at our first performance together at Cafe Oto in June 2021 and will be released on TAKUROKU label at the end of October.

The project was developed during lockdown and started remotely, with Alya recording vocal samples and sending them to Mariam to developed them into new sounds. She brought these sounds to Cafe Oto where the line between machine and human voice became entirely blurred.
